EastEnders star teases dark twists for Eve and Suki

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders actor Navin Chowdhry has discussed some “unsettling” scenes on the horizon for Eve Unwin and Suki Panesar.

In tonight’s (October 14) episode of the BBC One soap, Chowdhry’s ex-prisoner Nish Panesar returns to Walford, with Eve and Suki (his wife) having just had their secret rumbled by son Kheerat Panesar.

On the subject of Nish and Suki’s toxic marriage, the star admitted that Balvinder Sopal’s character is the only person tough enough to stand up to her husband.

“She’s probably the one person capable of giving as good as she gets to him. That’s the beauty of it for me. Nish is so manipulative, clever and intuitive that he doesn’t believe someone can get one over on him,” Chowdhry teased.

“But if anybody can go toe-to-toe with Nish, it’s Suki.”

Of course, Nish’s release from prison brings him into the orbit of Eve, so should she fear him?

“Eve’s playing with fire, and if Nish finds out what’s going on between her and Suki, it’s not going to be a pretty day in Walford. But Eve is a strong woman, and we’ve got some scenes coming up that develop something very exciting.”

Further along, the Star Wars: The Last Jedi cast member (he played a Resistance cargo pilot) went on to promise that nobody is in danger, so long as they don’t cross Nish.

“Nish says that despite the pain of losing Jags and not being there for 20 years of his children’s lives, he wouldn’t hesitate for a second to do the same thing again. For him to protect his family and his dignity, he would do it again.

“I think people in Walford will be quite charmed and intrigued by him but they should be intimidated if they cross him. There are people in Walford who have done a lot of crime, but Nish did 20 years for murder, and he wouldn’t hesitate for a second if his family were threatened,” Chowdhry added.

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
