The Brighton fans must have been thinking ‘Roberto De Zerbi’s going to be good’ after the 3-3 draw at Liverpool, but they’ve lost twice since. Their form can be like that – it’s either very hot, or very cold. Forest shot themselves in the foot missing a penalty last weekend, so should have got a draw. BRIGHTON 1-2 FOREST
Palace don’t get many nil-nil draws away, so they can be happy with that. There’s still no new manager for Wolves, but they’ll be buoyed from their win at the weekend. PALACE 0-1 WOLVES
Gary O’Neil’s done so well at Bournemouth, they’ve improved and look really lively going forward. But this is a South Coast derby, and I’ve just got a feeling Southampton will take all the points. BOURNEMOUTH 1-2 SOUTHAMPTON
Chelsea are on a roll, and there’s real competition for places there. Graham Potter’s happy to rotate and that’ll mean his players think they’ve got a chance of playing. Brentford beat Brighton last time out, but this is a step up. BRENTFORD 1-2 CHELSEA
As well as Liverpool played against Man City it’ll count for nothing if they can’t win this one. They’d be back at square one. David Moyes will make it tough for them, with set-pieces tricky to defend, but you’d really start to worry if the home side don’t win here. LIVERPOOL 2-0 WEST HAM
Newcastle are on a good run and full of confidence. Everton didn’t really lay a glove on Tottenham last weekend, and don’t really carry a big goal threat. NEWCASTLE 2-0 EVERTON
Man Utd are still seeking a bit of rhythm under Erik ten Hag, they’re getting there slowly, but this could be a tricky one. Spurs are a tough side to beat, and if they score first are a real nuisance to break down. MAN UTD 1-2 SPURS
Villa create very little and I think Steven Gerrard needs to find a way of playing his two frontmen and letting them go and cause havoc. Fulham are playing well and Aleksandar Mitrovic is such a handful. FULHAM 1-1 VILLA
Leeds will be kicking themselves for not taking any points off Arsenal. They’re lacking just a bit of quality in the final third. Leicester got a point against Palace but there’s lots of discontent there. They need to be careful, they’re not too good to go down. LEICESTER 1-2 LEEDS
LAWRO V PUNTER CHALLENGE
So, you’ve heard what Mark Lawrenson has to say, but can this week’s Paddy Power punter take down our predictions guru?
If you don’t know what we’re talking about, where have you been? Every Premier League matchday we’re putting up at least £/€50 – more if there’s a rollover – to anyone who can outsmart Lawro in guessing the outcome of that week’s games.
Lawro’s been bang in form of late, meaning the rollover now totals £/€200, and vying for victory in midweek is Everton fan, Pete. Here’s what he fancies from the nine matches in store…
Brighton 2-0 Nottingham Forest
Crystal Palace 2-0 Wolves
Bournemouth 2-1 Southampton
Brentford 1-1 Chelsea
Liverpool 3-1 West Ham
Newcastle 0-0 Everton
Man United 1-1 Tottenham
Fulham 2-1 Aston Villa
Leicester 0-2 Leeds
Here’s quick reminder of those all-important rules: We’ll award one point for a correct result and three points for a correct score (max three points per game, there are no four-pointers here).
May the best man win!
